What happens during Guitar Classes? Students work independently while following a guided lesson plan made for them by their instructor. Their lesson plan checklist changes every week according to what the student needs and their individual pace and also functions as their practice sheet for the week.
Who are Guitar Classes for? Our classes are designed for children aged 8 to 12. We're currently full and aren't taking students at the moment, but we'll have new sections open up during the summer semester!
What will students learn from joining a Guitar Class? They'll learn traditional note and rhythm reading, chords, scales, fretboard knowledge, and how to play songs. They'll also gain confidence and will learn how to teach themselves and be self-motivators. The goal of guitar classes is to inspire and instill a love for music making that students will carry for the rest of their lives.
Do we need instruments at home for this class? We have extra guitars around the studio if you don't have one or if yours doesn't make it to class. Practice isn't required for class attendance but is strongly suggested. We're more focused on making music accessible to all and keeping it fun while picking up some new skills along the way. (Disclaimer: you'll have so much fun that you'll definitely want to practice! The more students are around their instrument and playing the more they like their instrument!) Instruments are always available for rent or purchase in Nugent Music & Audio if a student wants to learn at a faster pace.
What is the Cost of Guitar Classes? If paid in full at the beginning of the semester the discounted price is $403.75. You may also choose to use our Installment Plan of 5 pays of $85, due on the 1st of the month.
How do I register for Guitar Classes? All you need to do is fill out a registration form, select the class time you'd like in the drop-down menu when prompted, and pay the $35 registraton fee.
